A comprehensive study on the separation of biologically active compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, coumarins, lignans, saponins, iridoids, and terpenes from Mongolian medicinal plants, determination of their molecular structures; discovery of new natural substances, and evaluation of their biological activities.

Laboratory capabilities
15 researchers, including 7 with doctoral degrees, 6 with master’s degrees, and 2 with bachelor's degrees. The laboratory is well-equipped with modern instruments and facilities to carry out research and analytical studies.
the isolation and purification of alkaloids, phenolic compounds, and terpenoids from plants using various chromatographic techniques (column chromatography anf HPLC);
the molecular structural elucidation of isolated pure compounds on the basisi of their physico-chemical properties and different spectroscopic methods;
quantitative analysis of biologically active constituents in plant materials (UV-VIS spectrophotometer and ELISA reader);
evaluation of antioxidant activity and enzyme inhibition potential of plant extracts and isolated compounds
equipped with a pilot production facility for developing and optimization of technologies for producing innovative products from plant materials.
